Small Underspin

If you are targeting bass that are feeding on shad but there is some grass around and the bite is tough, one of the best lures you can go with is a small underspin. This lure has a similar profile to something like a spinnerbait, but it’s texas rigged so it comes through cover better than something with an exposed hook. Even if there isn’t any grass around this thing still catches fish and it’s fun and easy to throw.

In terms of the specific lure to use I currently recommend a Reaction Innovations Little Dipper. For colors I usually suggest going with a natural shad color and then something that will stand out a bit more if the visibility is lower. There are also a few types of underspins out there but I personally suggest going with a 3/0 Owner Flashy Swimmer. If the visibility is lower you can go with a gold blade, or if the visibility is good you can go with a silver blade. Either way this thing catches fish year round and can be used in a variety of situations.
