Small Swimbait

If you are fishing a spot where there’s a lot of pressure and grass one of the best lures to start out with can be a small swimbait. It’s great for covering water so if the bass are interested in moving baits at all you can usually find them with this bait and it’s also fairly weedless so it does a good job of coming through grass. I also like to throw this lure on the same hook as a couple of other lures that I use, so it’s easy to swap out to something that moves a little slower once you think you may have found a spot you want to stick with for a while.

My current favorite lure in this category is the Reaction Innovations Little Dipper. This lure works great on an umbrella rig but also holds it own on a swimbait hook or a small underspin, and there are plenty of good colors for you to choose from.
