Small Lipless Crankbait

If you are at a pond or somewhere with a lot of fishing pressure than a smaller lipless crankbait can be a great lure to throw. In my case, I usually just use one when I’m at the pond I like to go to and since there’s usually some grass in it my current favorite lure to use is the Lucky Craft LVR D. I really like this lure because of how it performs around grass and I’ll probably write a review about it at some point. As far as colors go they have several to choose from but in my case since I usually just throw it in a pond with bluegill in it I go with their be gill color. 6th Sense also makes a lure called the Quake that comes in a color called bluegill fire, and if you can’t find the Lucky Craft then that one will work as a substitute.

In terms of gear I use my standard crankbait rod for this lure. I also swap out the treble hooks with single inline hooks and both of the lures I’ve mentioned typically ship with treble hooks. This bait can do well just about any time of the year, but I’ve found it actually does surprisingly well in colder months since you can fish it fast and get a reaction bite out of them. You could also bounce it on the bottom like you would with a standard lipless crankbait, but I usually use a stop and go retrieve when I’m throwing this lure.
