
An extra deep diving jerkbait is a great bait to throw in the winter months, or sometimes in the summer months if the water is clear enough. Even if the water is clear, the visibility is usually a little lower since you are targeting bass that are 12-13 below the surface, and as a result I typically just use a shad pattern for the color (the one in the picture is pearl threadfin).
As with other treble hook lures, I typically swap the hooks out for single inline hook so if you are going to purchase one keep in mind they ship with treble hooks. Aside from that I use the same rod, reel and line that I use with my other hard jerkbaits.
